Rodeo Tips and Tricks

It’s Rodeo time again in Houston! We look forward all year to the month of March when we can listen to some of our favorite musicians, crack up at the calf scramble, watch the bull-riding, act like crazy kids at the carnival, and eat till our belts bust! As much as we love the Rodeo, we know that it can get expensive and be difficult to navigate. Your friends at Liberty have put together some tips and tricks for how to get through the Rodeo with less hassle and more money in your pocket.

Value Wednesday

Most people have no idea that Wednesdays are actually the cheapest days to attend the Livestock Show and Rodeo! Admission to the grounds is $5 for Adults and free for Seniors and kids 12 and under! The Wednesday night concerts are also the cheapest!

Tickets

People often make the mistake of buying both a concert ticket and paying for admissions to the grounds. When you buy your concert ticket, it includes access to all of the Livestock show grounds and carnival!

Carnival

Through February 28, you can buy carnival tickets at half price on the Rodeo Houston website! https://secure.rodeohouston.com/carnivaltickets/Order.aspx Get your Carnival tickets in advance to save money and beat those lines!

Getting to the Rodeo

Everyone knows that parking at the Rodeo can be a real headache. It can be either a long walk and tram ride, or it can be pretty pricey. Many Houstonians are learning that taking the METRORail is a fun way to get to the Rodeo. It drops you off at the front door of the NRG Center and costs $1.25 each way. We at Liberty love this option since it protects your vehicle from the concerns a driver has about parking in large lots that are often unsupervised.

Whether you like the food, the rides, the excitement, or the tradition, we hope that all of you enjoy this exciting time of year in Houston!
