Halloween and Día de los Muertos Events

October is one of the best times of years to be outside in Houston. Luckily, there are loads of great events right now celebrating Halloween and Día de los Muertos. And even better, many of them are FREE!!

MECA (Muliticultural Education and Counseling through the Arts) is hosting a public celebration complete with community ofrenda exhibition, food, dancing and music. The event lasts from October 27-28. Click here for more information.

Don’t miss Scream on the Green! It’s the citywide costume contest at Discovery Green. It’s October 26 from 6-10PM. There will be lots of candy, a movie, free games, and more! Click here for more information.

Of course one of the biggest Día de los Muertos celebration will be hosted by Downtownfest. Over 45k people are already interested in going! November 1 at 4PM to November 2 at 2AM! Click here for more information.
